Effective Date: July 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pikcn Technologies (OPC) Private Limited ("Pikcn," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use Voice Recorder (the "App"), package com.pikcn.soundrecorder. Voice Recorder works offline. Pikcn does not collect or share user data through the App.
-
Introduction
Voice Recorder is an Android audio-recording utility whose recording, review, playback, saving, and deletion features operate locally on your device. The App does not require an account and does not contain advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking libraries.
In this policy, "accessed locally" means information used on the device to provide a feature. It does not mean that the information is collected by, transmitted to, or stored by Pikcn or another third party.
-
Information Accessed Locally
The App accesses only the information needed to provide its recording features:
- Microphone audio: accessed only after you start a recording and grant Android's microphone permission.
- Recording files: read locally while you record, review, play, save, discard, or return a recording to a requesting app.
Voice Recorder does not collect account information, contact information, advertising identifiers, analytics, usage data, or location data.
-
Data Collection
Pikcn does not collect personal or sensitive user data through Voice Recorder. Microphone audio is processed solely on your device to create the recording you requested. Recordings are not uploaded, transmitted to Pikcn, used for advertising or profiling, or used to train machine-learning models.
Google Play Data safety summary: the developer collects no user data and shares no user data. The App contains no ads or tracking and does not request Internet access. -
Data Generated and Stored by the App
While a recording is being made or reviewed, its temporary file is stored in the App's private internal cache. Temporary recordings are not placed in the device's shared audio collection.
- Selecting Done, or pressing Back after a completed recording is ready for review, saves the recording to the device's shared audio collection through Android MediaStore.
- Selecting Discard deletes the temporary recording.
- The App removes stale temporary recording files left by an interrupted session.
Android backup is disabled for the App. Pikcn does not keep a remote copy of recordings or local app data.
-
Permissions
The App requests the microphone permission solely to record audio after you start a recording. You can deny or revoke this permission in Android Settings, although the App cannot record without it.
Voice Recorder does not request broad storage access. Completed recordings are written through Android's MediaStore interface.
-
Data Security
Temporary recordings use Android's private app storage. Cleartext network traffic, app-data backup, and audio-playback capture are disabled. The App limits its requested permissions to those needed for local recording and saving.
Recordings saved to the shared audio collection are protected according to your Android version, device security settings, user profile, and permissions granted to other apps. No storage method can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so you should protect access to your device and delete sensitive recordings when they are no longer needed.
-
Offline Functionality
Voice Recorder does not request Android's Internet permission and does not communicate with external servers. Recording, review, playback, saving, and deletion operate without an Internet connection.
-
Data Retention and Deletion
Temporary recordings remain in the App's private cache only while needed for the active recording or review flow, unless an interrupted session leaves a stale file that the App later removes. Selecting Discard deletes the temporary recording.
Saved recordings remain in the device's shared audio collection until you delete them using a compatible media or file-management app. Uninstalling Voice Recorder removes its private temporary files and local app data, but it does not delete recordings already saved to the shared audio collection.
Voice Recorder does not create user accounts and Pikcn stores no server-side recording or account data. Therefore, there is no app account or remotely stored user data for Pikcn to delete.
-
User-Directed Transfers and Third-Party Apps
Another app may open Voice Recorder using Android's standard request to record audio. In that user-initiated flow, selecting Done, or pressing Back from the review screen, gives the requesting app read access to the saved recording. Selecting Discard, or leaving before a recording is ready for review, returns no audio.
When you choose another app or service to receive a recording, that third party may process it under its own privacy policy and terms. Pikcn does not control how a third party handles data after a user-directed transfer.
-
Children's Privacy
Voice Recorder is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. Audio remains under the device user's control as described in this policy. A parent or guardian can remove local recordings using the deletion controls above.
-
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's features, permissions, or data practices change, or when legal or platform requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes to the App's data practices will be disclosed before the changed version is distributed.
